Go Sailor: Go Sailor (1996)

For a band with such impressive connexions (vocalist/guitarist Rose Melberg is responsible for Tiger Trap and The Softies; drummer Amy Linton has brought us Henry's Dress and The Aislers Set; and bassist Paul Curran is also from Crimpshine) Go Sailor's one album-- which is actually a compilation of older tracks-- gets relatively little attention. And that is the reason it belongs here, along with the fact that the disc is incredible (I prefer it to all of its satellite bands). Expect delightful, pure female-fronted twee pop.

If some of these tracks seem familiar, that would be because they appeared on the soundtrack to the 1999 movie But I'm a Cheerleader-- which actually had an incredible soundtrack which I may have to upload swometime. It is, however, far from a quality film.
